My refurbished Xbox worked as good as new while saving me a ton of money. Best Buy has a special offer to include a gift card, so this purchase was a no brainer.

Cons: The website gave an opportunity for an extra controller for $29.99, but it showed up as full price in the cart. Customer service wouldn't help me get the advertised price.

If you want something that does the job on a budget and quality is not imperative, this is a good choice.

This TV has the notorious issue whereby the audio and video do not align. I only used the TV outside of the 30 day return period and noticed it then.
The manufacturer replaced the motherboard.
The cable company sent someone out as well.
Unfortunately, this is an issue that remains and others have complained about on the web.

Amazon recently came out with a Kindle just for kids - which is amazing.
This was the best thing at the time though.
For $3/month, kids get a pile of games, videos, and books (most importantly) - plus parental control over the experience.
Best part - kids get to install and run their own kid-friendly stuff without parents having to constantly download and install. (hint, hint Apple)

This was the best performing Mac for the buck.
15" is the largest screen size available unfortunately as Mac is moving toward the lighter Air and Macbooks.
With 16gb of RAM and a solid state HD, this thing processes music recordings quite well.

Of the available Andriod operating systems, what are the differences?

How do i know what is best for me?

They are named after snack foods which could get confusing.
Google's OS keeps getting better and has newer features.
Unfortunately, everyone and their grandmother modified the OS for their phones. Based on those mods and the hardware, there are vast differences in quality out there.

I did that a bunch of times on my iPhone and my friends on their cheapo phones.
These days, just about anything short of a toaster will do what you want.
iPhone has built in apps and the other phones offer free apps.
Of course, you could do the same with a tablet or laptop.

laptop vs. Ipad

I am looking for something simple that has WiFi but that I can also connect with a 4G Mifi card. Only use it 3-4 times a year so don't want to spend a lot of money. I tend to want something simple. How does Ipad differ from a laptop?

If you don't want to spend a lot of money and are doing something very, very basic a few times a year....check out the Google Chromebooks.

Look for the selection that explicitly states cellular data - choose that selection.

My version did not do rear facing photos.
There are a TON of photo editing packages out there, but the basic ones are a lot of fun.

Yes - but you don't have to decide now.
You can remove the sponsored messages and pay the difference later on from the settings screen.

I am considering the hdx but read a review that you cannot use adobe flash. Is that true? If that is so, how can you play some of the Facebook ga,es?

Yes, you can install an older version of Flash on an Android - but I wouldn't bother with the trouble and the risk.
Rather, wait for the last remaining dinosaur websites and services to drop Flash support.
