What's great about it: No supervision required, you buy the cartridges or downloads so they are not getting into questionable stuff
What's not so great: Wish there where more variety in the types of games.
A great indestructible learning toy that kids will love to play with.
I would recommend this to a friend!

How is it powered / charged?

It doesn't appear that a charger comes with the device, and batteries are not mentioned.
You can keep buying batteries or buy the recharger pack which I think runs about twenty bucks.
