The suction is so strong that it finds every loose spot and tries to suck up the floor. For that reason it has not been good for the vinyl floors but fantastic for the carpet. I wish it had a wider brush with the attachments or variable suction control to use with rugs, vinyl floors, and upholstery.
I would recommend this to a friend!

If so what are the levels available?

How does it do on dog hair?

I have a dog who sheds an awful lot in the summer. I need something that will pick that up.
I have 3 cats and it sucks up everything, including loose spots in the flooring. You do have to cut the hair from around the beaters like every vacuum I have owned. Very strong and consistent suction.

How is emptying out? Easy? Messy?

Very easy, just hold it over the trash can and push the button.
