It worked OK but not as good as my Mohu Leaf. A couple channels are sketchy with the leaf and I was hoping this might get them. No dice it didn't do as well as the leaf in my area. I'm going to try the new leaf glide
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Why does the antenna work well with my larger 40 inch 1080 HD flat screen but not with my smaller sharp flatscreen even when the smaller one is in the position of the larger one?

All TVs and devices that receive over the air signals need a receiver or tuner to process and decode the signal. They differ across makes and models so your bigger TV probably has a better built in tuner that can do a better job of deciding a weaker signal than the smaller TV.
