Can I use headphones in device or stream video only to TV?

Looking to display video on TV while on treadmill. Can I stream video and use headphones plugged into my device? (So everyone else doesn't have to listen to my videos/movies/noise?)
I have not come across that option no. It sends video and sound to TV from device.
