It is called System Overhead. All storage devices have this issue.
The screen goes black when I go on the internet but is okay if I don't (like playing games that are on the computer). If I turn it off and then back on it stays on for awhile then goes black again. If I do this repeatedly it stays on longer and longer until it finally quits going black. The next time I use the computer to go on the internet I have to go through the same procedure. Any ideas on what the problem is? It is not that old a monitor.
Go to Control Panel--Power Options and see if you can change the monitor sleep settings. That may be your issue.
