will garman gps give hotels/motels ahead on trip through canada/u.s.?

If I am going to Georgia will the gps device (when asked) tell me the names and locations of any or all motels on route?

when car charging, must the GPS be in the holder?

I prefer not to be distracted by the map on the screen. Can the charger be plugged into the GPS and then the GPS turned upside-down? Or does the charger plug into the holder....and the GPS then plugged into the holder?
