The ectender was easy to install, and provided wifi signal to area of the house that was very limited. I pay for 100mbs, with the extender I can get about half the speed. I also wad able to use a network cable from the extender to shield tv, with the cable I reach speeds over 100mbs.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The shelf went up easy, could not figure out how to adjust the height, but it was fine right out of the box. It has a open space that's covered by a plate to hide your wires. If you have more than one device this would not be the product for you. Its fine for the cable box and the apple tv.

I use a ubiquity access point 500 feet away, it works fine, but it broadcasts at 5Ghz. My wireless printer will not recognize anything but a 2Ghz. Can this extender be used to receive in 5GHz but broadcast in 2GHz ? Can't change ubiquity settings.

does mounting require bolting into wall studs?
I installed mine right into the drywall. The shelf came with drywall anchors, as well as, stud anchors. It's very steady and sits on the wall securely.
