What's great about it: Price. Battery. Kid Proof.
What's not so great: Not for heavy gamers.
Bought one for my kids..Me, my wife and mother in-law cant stay off of it. very light and portable. Now I got to buy one for everyone in the home.. at the price it aint going to be that hard.
This product is... Good sound quality, A touch pad that works great, Perfect for Business, A nice compact size, easy to set up, lightning fast

Is there something like Microsoft Excel or PowerPoint?

or can I at least make a power point or a spread sheet?
The Google Chromebook uses Google Docs. It does Spreadsheets, Presentations(like PowerPoint) and Documents.

Does Ethernet Adapter Need a Modem?

I've been researching ethernet adapters for Chrome. I don't quite understand how they work. I know you plug it in to a USB port. But the port on the other end ; is that where you insert the ethernet cable from your DSL modem? If so, when you take to, say a cafe where they have an internet connection, how does that work? I'm missing something.
you only need an Ethernet cable if your going to plug it into your DSL, Cable or your own router. When you travel your more then likely going to find wireless so you wont be needing your Ethernet cable.

The chromebook has built in wireless if you perfer to connect to your home network that way.
