This is one amazing soundbar. It comes securely packed in thick styrofoam, nothing out of the ordinary. What was impressive and unseen before, was that the soundbar and subwoofer came in a protective cloth bag; it was a nice change from all the plastic that comes in most electronic packaging. The soundbar and subwoofer are nice, solid and pretty to look at. The soundbar has a very modern look to it and has a little row of lights that indicate the level of the volume. To me, it’s a nice, simple look.
The set up was a bit of a pain. I have set up plenty of sound systems in the past - most of them are a “plug and go”. This one was not. I had some issues with the set up and got a bit frustrated during the process. I did get it set up, but continued to have some issues; although, I will say that the issues I had after the initial set up, I couldn’t determine if the issues were with the soundbar or the tv I was attempting to set it up with.
Once I got it hooked up, it was truly an amazing thing. The sound was superb. Like deafening, superb. The room was shaking that is how powerful that subwoofer is. This is where I ran into a hiccup - when I directly connected it to the TV, it worked for about 1 minute and then cut out. Again, I will reiterate, that I couldn’t confirm that this was an issue with the actual soundbar and not just with the TV I was using.
So I went to casting directly to the soundbar - again, perfect amazing sound, with depths of bass I didn’t know were possible. I tested out several different movies and music genres. For the movies, I did a scene from Avengers: Engame, Gone in 60 Seconds (Eleanor chase scene) and The Matrix (when Neo and Trinity storm the building to save Morpheus - lots of phew phew and tink tink). I will say that if the bass it up too high, the voice to drown out, or if you don’t change the setting from music, night or movie. But either way, the sound was beautifully clear and crisp.
The music test - I sampled several different genres of music to test the clarity of the vocals and the depth of the bass. To give you an idea of what I tested out, I played Slipknot, TuPac, Lil’Nas (because my kids wanted to know why I was shaking the house) Shania Twain and 2Cellos. I will say that I feel like this soundbar was made for music; as good as it sounded during the movie test, it really rocked the house with the music test. I also liked the ability to stream from my phone directly to it - that is a cool feature that I don’t have on my older soundbar.
Overall, I would say that this is a pretty amazing soundbar and I had a lot of fun running the gambit of tests to see what it could really do.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Let me start off by saying this this TV is super fragile or rather the screen; I know other reviews have comments on this as there is a warning as soon as you open the box. I had it shipped to my house and it was damaged when I took it out of the box. Needless to say, I was nervous about getting the replacement out when it came, as I didn’t want to be the one responsible for breaking a brand new tv. The TV itself doesn’t feel cheap; the body is solid, but lightweight and sturdy. Just be careful to not put any pressure on the screen.
Once out of the box, it is a great TV. Physical set up - all you need is a Phillips screwdriver to put the feet of the TV on, and plug the power cable in. This is my second Android TV; the Google set up is simple to follow to get running. I feel like the Android/Google operating system has come a long way in the last few years. I have another, more expensive TV in my house with the same system and this one just seems to run smoother and have a clearer layout that is very customizable. It comes four HDMI ports, two USB ports, a LAN and ANT/Cable inputs, as well as AV IN and digital Audio out. One thing I’m not used to see was a headphone jack - I did hook up my headphones to the TV, it was a little awkward, but I wanted to try it out.
It has a nice picture - although I don’t think it’s as crisp as I’ve seen on other TVs; I don’t want to judge it too harshly though, because the picture is still very nice. I tested it out with streaming (Netflix, YouTube TV, and Hulu), I also cast to the TV, as it has a built in Chromecast, which is nice, because it isn’t taking up one of the HDMI ports. I also hooked up our Switch to it to test the picture when it came to gaming. Overall, I was very pleased with the picture and wouldn’t complain about it. It’s not the crispest picture, but it is clear. The speakers that come on the TV are nice - no twang when you turn it way up.
Overall, I’d say this a very nice smart TV that gives you 4K ability - the price point isn’t crazy, so really it’s a good option for a lot of nice features and picture.

Belkin - Thunderbolt 3 Docking Station
Belkin - Thunderbolt 3 Docking Station
Organize needed peripherals with this Belkin Thunderbolt 3 DOCK MINI. The two HDMI ports support 4K monitors, while the two USB ports let you link a mouse, keyboard and other devices. Connect to a router for high-speed Internet using the Ethernet port. This Belkin Thunderbolt 3 DOCK MINI works with Windows and Mac devices for increased compatibility, and the thin aluminum body is both durable and portable.

It was just ok - a bit disappointing.

I was very excited to get this Docking Station - I recently purchased an off brand docking station to use with my LG Gram and my older MacBook Air, and wasn’t happy with how they worked with it. That being said, I was excited for this Belkin Docking Station - I’ve had other Belkin products in the past and was very happy with them.
Unfortunately, I feel like this “docking station” was a bit lacking as a docking station. I was disappointed to see that it would only had a USB-C connector, which made it unusable with my MacBook Air without additional cable or converters. In addition, once I plugged in my keyboard and mouse, I was pretty much out of ports.
I did get it all connected to my LG Gram and it worked well - but overall, I was disappointed by the lack of ports, but maybe I should have tempered my expectations of a mini docking station. Lesson learned.

Take it from a headphone junkie, these are probably the best headphones I’ve ever had. Typically, I shy away from over-the-ear headphones, as I don’t usually find them very comfortable and too heavy and bulky. These headphones are lightweight enough that I don’t feel like I have a bowling ball on my head, but are sturdy enough, that I don’t feel as though they are going to break. The cushioning on the headphones is plumb and very comfortable. They also fold up nicely and are quite compact when folded. They come with a carrying bag, which is nice for traveling with them and ensuring that they don’t give damaged.
Moving onto the sound quality - the sound quality is amazing. It is crisp and clear. The extra bass is very evident without being overpowering to the treble or the vocals in music. The app also allows for an amazing amount of custombility - from something as simple as an equalizer to controlling ambient sound depending on where you are, or my personal favorite is the surround option (VPT), where you can change how it sounds depending if you were in an arena, a club, an outdoor stage or a concert hall.
The noise-cancelling is also amazing. I’ve used it in a number of different situations - from listening to music/talking a call in the house with my children and the TV to block out, to wearing them while riding a tractor to cut the lawn. They work wonderfully, without having to turn the volume all the way up.
There are controls on the outside of the headphones to skip songs, control the volume and answer calls. Calls are very clear - on both ends. I was worried that I wouldn’t be heard clearly, but I took several calls and everyone I spoke to said that the call was very clear on their end. There is also a nice “muffle” feature if you put your hand over the right ear, where it dampens the sound - this was particularly nice when my kids insisted on trying to talk to me while I was testing them out.
Overall, I would say these are the best headphones over - they are feature rich and comfortable. If I had one complaint, it would be that because of the padding on the headphones, they can get a bit warm. But I hardly count that against them, as they do so many other things so well.

This phone mount is something for the books. I have had several phone mounts over the last couple of years and this is the first one that I felt confident my phone wasn’t going to go fly off of.
So out of the box, it doesn’t look like much; just your regular windshield/dash phone mount. It’s nice enough, but it doesn’t look any different from any of the other ones I’ve owned. I will admit that the first thing I did was test out the magnetic strength. I slipped both size magnetics, one at a time, between my phone case and my phone to see if that made a difference in the “grip” and how well the mount held onto the phone. I was extremely impressed and pleased to see that both worked wonderfully and it took quite a force to knock my phone loose.
After testing the magnetic pull, I tested out the difference between the windshield and the dash to see if the mount was better suited for one or the other. I did notice how sticky the suction cup was and that gave me hope that it wouldn’t fall of my windshield. I left it there for a few days to make sure that the changing weather didn’t have any effects on the suction cup and I’m pleased to tell you that it took a little bit a brute strength to get it off my windshield. The mount came with a 3M disk to adhere to the dash and then the mount to that. I’ve had no problems with the mount coming off the disk or my phone coming of the mount while driving and stopping.
This is the best phone mount that I’ve ever come across.

This printer is pretty; with white and gray replacing much of the body’s traditional dull black, this is a refreshing change to a necessity of today’s world. Along with being pretty, it feels pretty sturdy out of the box. The paper tray and scanning tray don’t feel like they’re going to break off, like I’ve experienced with some printers in the past.
Setup is quick and easy - the colored touchscreen on the front walks you through everything you need to know to set it up. I suggest downloading the HP Connect app before you get started; otherwise, you’ll have to stop your setup to finish getting all the features you want.
The app is pretty nice as well - it allows you to print, print from Google Drive, scan, scan to the cloud and email, make copies, set up smart tasks (if you’re going to email scans to the same people over and over) and order replacement ink cartridges.
Printing/scanning and copying is easy enough and the ability to wirelessly do these functions from my phone is awesome. The ink quality is bright and crisp. One hiccup I had a few times was when I went to print multiple pages at once, the paper got jammed a bit and printed one page across 3 pieces of paper. There wasn’t even that much paper in the tray; I took the paper out and fixed it and that seemed to clear up the issue.
Overall, this is a really nice printer that has all the functionality that a small business or home office would need.

This is one of the slickest looking deadbolts I’ve ever seen.
Installation was simple; if you’ve ever installed or replaced a door handle or deadbolt, you can install this. The app has a walk through tutorial as well for installation. Overall, I would say that it took less than 20 minutes to get it installed (and that’s with my kids asking for snacks while I was doing it).
Setting up the PIN was simple enough and works well. I like that the lock comes with a physical key as well, as it runs on AA batteries; so you don’t have to be worried about the lock batteries dying and being locked out.
The app is nice and allows you to lock the door without physically locking it; I’m also about to lock and unlock it with my Apple watch, which I still find cool. The app also allows you to set up smart alerts (like when a specific person unlocks the door) and automatic locking and unlocking given your bluetooth location, which is a nice feature. The door also comes with DoorSense, which enables the lock to detect if the door is open or closed. I did not install this on my door, as I put the lock on the door between my kitchen and garage and it would be constantly alerting me with my kids coming and going.
I wasn’t able to get it set up with my Homekit and therefore, haven’t been able to lock it or unlock it while out running errands. This could just be user error on my part, but it is an issue I had.
Overall, this is a really nice looking deadbolt and also has some cool features. I would suggest this to any of my friends and family that are looking to automate them home.

When I first saw these Boses Frames, I was very intrigued. I was a little nervous about such a frivolous product; would I actually use these frames? Could they replace my headphones that I live and die for? Would they live up to the hype of all other products Boses puts out?
In a word: yes. These Boses Frames are both functional in the traditional sense as sunglasses and work well as a substitute for headphones.
Fresh out of the box, the frames didn’t look much different from normal sunglasses. They have a classic, smooth style to them - traditional, simple, black matte frame, with lightly tinted lens (enough to block the sun out, but not enough to black out your eyes). The frames are rather lightweight, which was a nice surprise. The speakers are located in the arms of the frames, right about where the frames meet your temples. It does add a bit of an unbalanced look to the frames if you’re looking at them from a profile view, but where else are you really going to put the speaker? They come with a nice, hard plastic case and a drawstring bag for the charging cable (which is specific to the glasses; so if you forget it, there’s no borrowing someone’s micro USB or lightening cable to charge them).
The speakers have a very nice sound quality. There is no way to control volume level from themselves; you have to your phone or the Boses app. This wasn’t an issue for me, as I just controlled it from my Apple watch. The speakers can crank out some sound though; at full blast, people can definitely hear what you’re listening to you. If you turn the volume down, it’s hard for anyone to notice that you’re listening to it. Taking calls is simple enough with clear sound and reception. I did not notice any breaking it of the call or crackling like I sometimes experience with my headphones. I really enjoyed being able to listen to my music while still being aware of my surroundings.
The app is simple enough as well. I didn’t have any issues getting it connected to my iPhone and it generates cute nicknames for your frames (mine is the Hillbilly Cat). There are some interesting AR apps that you can use with the frames; I played around a little bit with them, but it wasn’t really my thing, and quickly got bored.
Overall, these are fun and functional.

I was very excited to get this LG Gram 2-in-1 14 inch touch-screen laptop. I have been working off an old Mac Airbook that gets the job done, but it slow to boot up and does freeze up often when I try to run multiple programs at once.
Out of the box, this is a sleek looking laptop. It is lightweight but doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy in my opinion. The keyboard is nice and study; it isn’t “loud” like some keyboards are will clicking, but also do feel firm and are responsive.
The performance is amazing with the Gram - the speed at which is boots up and shuts down is impressive. It is fast and easy to flip open and start working. It also has a fingerprint unlock capability; something that isn’t new to the market, but something that I appreciate wholeheartedly as I hate having to type in my password to unlock anything these days.
The screen is very crisp and clear - it has the ability to rotate from landscape to portrait depending on how you want to use it (laptop vs. tablet). There isn’t a lot of “board” surrounding the screen, so you’re getting a full 14” of viewable area (13.75” if you are not counting taskbar at the bottom of the screen). The touchscreen is also very responsive to both the stylus pen and finger touch.
The Gram has several ports such as USB-A, USB-C, micro SD slot, HDMI, headphone jack and an ethernet connector.
I can’t too much to the storage capabilities of the Gram, as much of what I work on is cloud base. I can see where it may not have the capacity that some need, but for me, that’s not an issue.
The battery life on the Gram is next level. I don’t work on my laptop daily typically, but I can do use it often and for lengthy periods of time when I do, and I feel like I never have to charge it. It will literally keep a charge for well over a week. Also, when it does need to be charged, it doesn’t take long for it to completely charge. My old laptop can have a full charge and after about an hour of heavy use, I’m lucky to have 25% battery left. Needless to say, I am extremely happy and impressed with the battery life of the Gram.
Even though the Gram has the ability to switch into tablet mode, I prefer to use it as a traditional laptop. I personally find it weird to feel the keyboard when I flip it to tablet mode. That’s not to say that it doesn’t make an amazing tablet as well, it’s just my personal preference.
Overall, I would suggest the Gram to anyone in the market for a multiversital device. It works well, is fast and lightweight.

I was interested in this Shark Vacuum with its self cleaning promises. I can say that I was pleasantly surprised that it lived up to its promise. I have an older upright vacuum that I have spent years flipping over and cutting my pet’s hair from around the brushes. I have vacuumed my house (which is approximately 3000 sq ft) 4 times with Shark Stick Vacuum and the brushes still look brand new.
I also like how light weight it is. I was able to easily carry it up and down the stairs in my house without struggling with the bulkiness of my traditional upright vacuum. I’ve had other “lightweight” stick vacuums in the past and I have never been impressed with the power that they had. Even with its lightweight, it still had the power of an upright and I feel it actually did a better job cleaning and vacuuming than my other vacuum.
There were only 2 negatives I would say about this Shark and they were definitely not deal breakers. The first one was that there is no place to put the attachments on the vacuum itself; it’s a bit annoying because I had to find a separate home for them, but overall, I’ve never really had much use for the attachments, so it didn’t matter too much to me. The second thing was that unlike a traditional upright vacuum there was no way to lock in place while vacuuming. You have to find a place to lean the vacuum up against. I understand this is part of having a stick vacuum, but just something to consider.
Overall, I love this vacuum and can not talk about it enough - it’s lightweight and powerful. It does a great job and I don’t know if I would ever buy other vacuum.

Does this have voice search?

Yes and it works quite well actually. Go to youtube and search for Roku Voice Search and you can see it in action - but yes the Roku 3 with its updated firmware ( it will update for you automagically if needed once plugged in ) does support it.

DOES ROKU 3 GET THE LOCAL CHANNELL? ... LIKE CBS, ABC, NBC etc.
only if you have a service that allows for them - so as of today you can get live espn via the sling app == you can watch abc, cbs , fox, and nbc programs via the cbs app, fox app, or hulu - if you want live tv though, sling tv has a handful of stations, but as of today not the major local networks. For that you will need either a cable package, or an OTA antenna - many of which work great, and provide all those stations in local HD without a monthly bill.

We want to maintain TWC landline phone service. Will the Motorola MODEM provide that capability?

Like the cost-savings assoc with having my own MODEM but want to maintain land-line phone service. TWC Tech said we must keep TWC MODEM to maintain our land-line phones. If this MODEM won't support land-line, how can we get VOIP or similar phone service?

Thanks, kindly, for any advice.
This modem does not directly support a land line for VOIP-- meaning it is not going to allow you to plug an RJ11 satin line cord into it -- VOIP itself though will work fine - meaning if you were using Vonage, Magic Jack, Google, or any other VOIP service, it is simple a small device that you would plug into your network router, that would terminate the phone connection and handle the VOIP data - TWC ( at least used to , I got rid of mine a year ago ) pushes the VOIP calls through there own private network, so using a non TWC managed device generally won't work. I personally found -- Obihai - OBi VoIP Phone Adapter Sold right here at Bestbuy works great with Google Voice. Frankly I like the Google Voice features better anyways - and as long as you are not calling international -- its free.

SB6141 vs SB6121

Is there really a big speed difference between the two modems? Both are DOCSIS 3.0.
My base line testing has shown very little difference - I would assume if you happen to live in an area that provides very high speed internet ( hundreds of meg down ) perhaps you would notice the difference -- I get 40 meg down and could not see a difference at all between the 2, I did though end up going with the 6141 simply because I am hoping to have this modem for several years, and in the event speeds increase and it does make a difference, I am not regretting my decision. That said though, I have been unable to produce a noticeable difference between the two in my environment.
