Definitely not the quietest dishwasher out there... We bought this to replace an old white whirlpool that was nearly it's end of life. I had no idea how high end our old unit was, all the functions, the insulation for noise, etc, but comparing the prices, we would have spent 2x if not 3x times as much for a comparable unit. It cleans well, has good space for dishes, does what it is designed to do. If you are looking for an inexpensive solution for a dishwasher and don't care for the bells and whistles and noise, this is a solid unit.

Buy some rechargeable batteries and a charger, and you have the best <$100 universal remote money can buy! Even has a help feature for those, ahem, less remote savy than most. Simple, lcd display, works great!

Will this also work with a bose hometheater speaker system, directv box, and bluray player
Short answer, yes. Long answer, if you are referring to a quick feature, like an 'app', then you can specifically program most buttons on the remote to do any function on your devices remote. There are 4 color coded ez access buttons that are great to program to use for smart devices shortcuts.

how do i exit messages
If you are referring to messages displayed on the remote's LCD display, there are 4 side buttons, 2 on each side. Next to one of them will be the command choices, like 'exit' or 'next'.

where is shift
I am at Log in and Password tab and I want to switch from alphabet to numbers but display only shows alphabet. I dont know how what to press for shift so I can use numbers
Sounds like you are using the remote to navigate through an on screen keyboard, perhaps for netflix or your media/dvr unit? If so, you need to look for the 'shift' on the on screen keyboard, nothing to do with the Harmony remote. The Harmony remote never displays a keyboard or 'log in' on it's lcd display.

Will it work with an electric fireplace?
I am wondering if it will control my Whalen brand electric fireplace. Style name is "Sheldon".
Not unless your fireplace uses IR (infared). Most fireplaces and ceiling fans use radio frequency, the Logitech Harmony 650 does not.
