I had a Surge — their larger, GPS enabled watch that preceded the Ionic and Blaze. It got to the point where the battery wouldn't last me even one day. Also the band, which on that watch is not removable, was falling apart. I called support and they were able to look at my sync history to see how poorly the battery was performing. Because I was out of my warranty period (less than 2 years), they offered me a 25% discount on a new fitbit. It was certainly disappointing to be told a $250 birthday-gift device was destined for the garbage after such a short time, but 25% was better than a kick in the head I guess. I did get a new Charge and have been happy with it since. I have no expectation that I will get a free replacement when it gets tired of functioning and it's why I'll probably stick to this mid-range fitbits instead of spending $$$ on something like the Ionic.
