We purchased two of these. They work great. We have had almost no problems from them. The called for support which was very good. They said they don't support using these as baby monitors but there is no reason they would not work. My guess is they don't want the cords around the babies.

I get about 15 local stations. I have a powered one and this works just as well. It only has coax out so I can't use it on my sat box so unjust change inputs and it works great.

I have terrible dish reception eill it help?

This is a wifi extender. It will only extend your local wifi. If you have a large house and there are rooms that have poor coverage you can put it between the main wireless access device and the room you are having trouble with and it will extend your coverage. It won't get you any more speed that what you already have.

This has nothing to do with TV picture. Only local wireless network.
