We are a group of professional beach portrait photographers and this very affordable lens is one of our favorites. And for the price you do not mind taking it on the beach!
I would recommend this to a friend!

D7200 nikon camera. 70-200-2.8 nikor lense. Settings are as follows: AF-C D9 - Center weighted focus - Auto ISO Settings are: 200 ISO Minimum-1250 ISO Max-Min. Shutter Speed at 1250. Camera set on Aperature Priority of 5. Suuny Day-All were under exposed.

Turn your dial away from the Aperture Priority to the M position. The only options I recommend to be automatic are White Balance & Auto Focus. With a little help with YouTube you should be shooting in Manual like a pro in no time.

Is it ok to use a dx lense on the d810?

It is OK to use a DX lens on the 810, just don't let anyone see that you are. The DX is a cropped down image sensor and your beautiful 810 has a Full Frame sensor giving you approximately 35-40% more image. Only FX lenses will utilize the full frame capabilities of the 810. I recommend FX Fixed Prime lenses only.

Which Is the better option for indoor and outdoor family portraits and infants. 50mm or 85 mm ? Using the nikond810

The winner is almost always the Nikon 85mm 1.8 for any portraits indoors or out in our opinion and for under $500 bucks. WOW! That said a very similar photo can be achieved with the 50mm 1.8 using your 810 and you can be about arms length from the infant with the 50mm. If you have an assistant to work with the baby I would still shoot with the 85. Both are very affordable lenses and I recommend you pack them both in your backpack. .
