What does a wide screen accomplish? Does it fill the screen when using the Internet? Can you control the aspect ratio?
I would be using it with a laptop having the typical 1366 x 768 display. Will in still look clear and sharp?

You will be able to display 50% more vertical and horizontal compared to your laptop screen.
If you use it to display the same (clone) resolution as the laptop screen, then it won't look clear and sharp because you will then be running it in non-native (1920x1080) resolution. If you are using it as an extension or as the only display (most 1366x768 laptops should be able to drive 1920x1080), then it will look clear and sharp. Enjoy!
