Perfectly fits my iPhone 6. Thin but sturdy. Doesn't interfere with my use of side buttons. Fits my hand grip nicely.

Could I save files from garage band and be able to open them on a new computer and fully access them for editing and additional recordings?

Its probably too slow for Garage Band music projects unless your Mac has USB 3.0

will this work on an old G4 panther

I need to back up the G4 just for safety while I setup a new iMac 3.1GHz. I purchased this at an Apple store.

Does this add 1TB storage to your mac or is the backup just a flashdrive?

Neither really. Its simply a backup external hard drive that can be attached to the Mac's USB port. Use Disk Utility to erase and reformat for Mac.
