I purchased this in Denver, Colorado and brought it back to Brazil with me. Mounting it could not be easier. When used it on "cleaned" rugs with an American Vac (10 years old, bag) I was amazed. The amount of cat hair and dust (I called it cement dust as just like it) that it sucked up. About every 10 to 12 square meters (about 140 square feet) of carpet, I had to dump it as it was that full. I went back over the rugs a week later, and very little more. I could say it got years of polution, dust, dirt, out of the rugs, and the first time cleaned. During cleaning of the entire house, the filter indicator (I call it suction efficiency) went to half red, I stopped and cleaned it by using the old vacuum cleaner to suck it out. Could not wash it as would be wet for a while, and I needed to continue cleaning rugs and some tapestries. For a hundred dollar vacuum cleaner (got it with a good promotion discount) I do not see how it could be better. For sure all the power and amazing cleaning that people state, is true. It is a good for the value product.
I brought it back to São Paulo Brazil as normal baggage and no issues as it is well protected in it´s original box.

What gives with the Hoover wind Tunnel bag upright??
How much does this vacuum weigh? I am miffed that I bought a hoover wind tunnel upright in Aug.2006. On March 26, 2007 had to have the belt and the on off switch replaced. Now Dec. 2013 and the switch is not working like in 2007,. Can't believe that these vacuums have this trouble. Am really questioning whether to buy another hoover if our repair dealler says it would cost more than it would be to out and out replace it. Vacuum one large living room per week or as needed!!
Well I am not surprised My son paid $50 dollars in Chicago to have a 4 dollar switch on their washing machine replaced in 10 minutes.
The warranty is 2 years and I did not buy an extension, as if breaks here in Brazil, fix it here myself or trash it. At the price of about $4 dollars a month (if last 2 years) I consider it cheap for what it does. It is high amperage so that is rough on any switch. You say fixed it in 2007, so 6 years is a long time. I always replaced belts about every 2 years, simple do-it-yourself and buy them at any hardware or department store.

Can you turn the brush roller off while using accessories or on hard floors?
Almost sure, no. If hard floor, setting is on high, brush does not even touch the floor. What I was concerned, and saw, when you use it with "hose cleaning" the handle if vertical, and brush is very high off the floor. Not to "burn/wear out the carpet" for shag rugs for example, you might want to lift the brush way off the rug buy pulling the handle back when locked in vertical position. My previous vac did not have this ability.

HOW TO REMOVE FILTER TO CLEAN.lostBOOKLET.
It is easy. Remove the filter unit, Lift up on the filter latch on top of the canister, and there is a piece of filter material you pinch and lift up. Mine I prefer to use the old vac to clean it. Until order a replacement filter that I can switch in and out (should not be wet) will continue doing it this way.

Hoover WindTunnelT Series UH70120
2015 Consumer Reports Buying Guide lists the Hoover Wind Tunnel T Series UH70120 as the best bagless, rewind vacuum. However, I cannot find this model in any stores. Does anyone know what year this model is and if replaced what model it was replaced with? Looking for something to pick up pet hair on carpets.
I bought mine at Best Buy in the southern part of Denver Colorado. I looked it up before traveling to the US, and found it on the floor along with a couple more. Far as I know, it is not in sunset (phase out of production). Even going thru customs here in São Paulo Brazil, the Federal Police agent (a friend of mine) asked about it. He said he has seen this Hoover come thru often. I explained to him it is as good as the 500 dollar version of another manufacture, but cost about only 120 dollars, and has the Hoover name, that is probably why seen so many come into Brazil. I prefere the rewind of the cord, and the vac was not labeled with "Pet Hair". Looking at another one, the brushes looked exactly the same. After use here at home, it digs out the cat hair in the rug with no effort. I imagine that by demand, it is hard to keep up with the supply. I assume you got your by now. The wait would be worth it for sure.
