WU-1A to iPhone

In my nikon D3200 planing to buy WU-1A adapter using my iPhone to remote can I use w/o a wifi connection for taking outdoor picture ?
Yes, the adapter creates its own WiFi network, no internet connection needed to use phone as a remote for the camera.

Does it work with iphone 6? It says you can pair it with android device.

Yes it will connect to an iPhone, Nikon has an app that lets your phone connect to the camera.
