Originally purchased for the affordable price but ended up liking the speed at which it performs. Good product overall. Easy to setup too.

Will I need to have a plan or connect this to any other devices for the wifi to work or do I need to just buy it and turn it on and it's good to go ?

It's good to go but you first will have to setup the software with the cd provided and needs to be connected to your cable modem. I'm assuming you already have a T.V. service.
