I've always been buying Windows computers; therefore, it came as a surprise that (a) the Macbook Air is cheaper and (b) the software has advanced way beyond what I'd seen in the past (around 3 years ago). Sadly, however, Macs are by definition user-friendly and NOT developer friendly. I found, much to my chagrin, that the software development environment still sucks. Big time. After 2 hours of futile fiddling around, I finally gave up on porting to the Mac an app I had written in the distant past. On my Windows PC, however, I quickly downloaded MinGW and had the app flawlessly built on the first try. Apple Computer, you're as developer-friendly as you ever were! However, be assured that your fans (i.e., the MacHeads(TM)) will never let you down. Yay. Way to go Apple!

A nice, no-frills TV (without all the distractions of Wi-Fi, Internet connectivity, apps, etc) resulting in a TV experience that just *works*. Of course, can't expect better sound absent a sound bar -- consequently, the sound is tinny and devoid of any base or highs. Clearly not for an audiophile, but hey, if all you watch is CNN on your TV this will suit you admirably.

Can you hook up your laptop?
Was wondering if you can hook up your laptop to watch Netflix or other stuff?
Your laptop should have an HDMI port and you should have an HDMI cable to hook it up to the TV.

Can this be used as a PC monitor?
Yes. One of the HDMI ports is marked for use as a monitor (HDMI/DVI). However, you will need a DVI/HDMI converter cable.

I have read other places that if a raid were to go it cannot be replaced? Is that true i would think that is the whole benifit of configuring this as raid1 so if a drive were to go bad you can hot swap it.

My main purpose for this unit would be to upload my DVD collection and music files. I want the ability to access these files over the internet from my electronic device (phone, laptop). Is this possible?

I have loaded movies from my apple phone to my 4tb external drive but when I play the videos they studder/stop. What could be the problem?
When I play the videos I uploadd they stop/studder. Any ideas?
