This Bose system delivers crystal clear sound quality, powerful bass (for movie night), and is easy to set up. I have it hooked up to a projector, and even though the receiver sits across the room (not next to the speakers as intended), we had it set up in less than 30 minutes, including installing cable covers.
I would recommend this to a friend!

what size of thread in back of the two speakers

Not sure what size they are but I used a universal speaker mount for mounting to the wall. The Bose brand mounts are ridiculously expensive.
