This refrigerator is beautiful, roomy and I love the smaller drawer for our beverages. My only complaint is the ice maker. When I purchased, salesperson said the ice dispenser would stop making cubes when it was full. But the instructions/booklet say otherwise. Also the cubes come out sometimes crushed, sometimes broken and sometimes whole. I plan on placing a call about that. But I love, love, love the refrigerator. So bright, roomy and easy to clean.
I would recommend this to a friend!

can you take out the ice bin to fill a large container?

Not very easily. You have to push up and pull out at same time.

How do I shut down the ice maker for defrosting ice maker frozen

On the display on the door, just hold the ice maker picture for a few seconds and it will shut the ice maker off.
