Sony finally made a good player. Most of Sony's line is plastic and cheap, which is fine if you have a $1000 Tv or less.. If you have a $3000 Tv or more. This player fits the bill. 4k is still creeping along, but will hit mainstream later this year and the next. I have seen the Oppo 103 and while its a nice player, its not worth $500.. It is build in China. The 7200 does a outstanding job with upscaling Dvd content. Great buy at $200 . A great alternative to the Oppo. If you have a 4k Tv, get this player and you will be satisfied with the results.

UHD Upscaling
I have a 4K player and will be buying a 4K TV soon. I am wondering if there is a significant upgrade in picture quality when playing DVDs with UHD. I make posters for my Zazzle store of public domain movies, some of which are only on DVD. So if you have an opinion on UHD with regard to DVDs I will appreciate your thoughts. TY
That will depend on the Tv you buy. If you spend less than a $1000 on one.. The upscaler in the Tv will not be good.. Sony and Samsung are your best bet with 4k. Stay away from anyone else. You really get what you pay for with these Tv's today. I have a top end Sony 4k with this player and it makes my old Dvd's near Bluray quality.

Yes it does, and upscales them very nicely.

Does this now work with the lollipop 5.02 upgrade or only with KitKat yet ?
