Can these bulbs be used in ceiling fixtures that are completely enclosed?
I have old style fixtures that have a glass globe or cover that fits against the metal base affixed to the ceiling. The glass is held in place with screws and is removed to replace the bulbs. We have used incandescent bulbs in these for years and more recently CFL bulbs. Since LEDs are supposed to be cooler than both of these, i would think they could be used in these fixtures, yet on a package of 40-watt equivalent LED bulbs that I bought elsewhere, it said not to use in enclosed fixtures. Do these have the same warning?
Thank you.
I used two to replace "regular, old fashioned" 60-watt bulbs, in a light fixture that is attached to a ceiling fan. I don't recall anything about not using them in enclosed spaces, so maybe that will be a problem somewhere down the road, but so far there has been no apparent problem with this.
