What's great about it: Brightness, and coverage is perfect
I initially bought two to determine how good they are. Liked them enough I subsequently ordered four more. All are extremely bright, and the coverage is great since they are flood light type. I'd say the color scale is a bit cooler than specified, based on some Philips bulbs I've bought. The Philips are warmer. These are probably closer to 3200k instead of 2700k. I can tell at least visually. Anyhow, my wife approves, and she hates the ones rated cool ~ 6000k. Thanks!

Does this bulb run hot to the touch? I need a cool burning LED bulb in case our bird lands on it. Thanks!
I don't have this exact one, so hopefully some who does will respond... But some I do have with the same specs do run hot, even in wide open space. Not as hot as incandescent, but hot none the less.

What is the highest LED light I can buy? I need it to fit in my lamp that I read by. I currently have a 3 way & I read at the 150 level.
I haven't seen any bulbs rated to compare against 150w, though they may exist. Really the best comparison is lumens, not wattage, but you should perhaps try the highest lumen output bulb you can find. I have bought quite a few, and feel that many that are rated comparable to say 60w, seem to be as bright as 100w bulbs. They really 'pack a wallop!’ So try an 800 lumen or higher, and you might be surprised the amount of light they put out.

Can this be used in partially enclosed light fixtures?
I'd like to replace the 40 watt bulbs in the fixture over my bathroom sink. I have been told that some LED bulbs cannot be used in enclosed fixtures because the heat generated negatively affects the bulbs. The glass shades on the fixture are not completely closed, they are tulip shaped. Will this allow sufficient heat dissipation? Thanks for your help.
Sounds to me that your fixture isn't closed, but open, so go for it!

Energy used?
there is no mention of what this bulb consumes in engery, just equal to a 40watt bulb output, what is input load.
The 'Specifications" page says 9W consumption. Maybe you missed that link / page.
