What's great about it: ease of use and app is great
What's not so great: no pan or tilt, initally setup is difficult
Overall, these cameras are great. I own 3 and couldn't pass up on the 3rd during a black friday sale

recording

does this record? do I have to connect to Ethernet/Wi-Fi/ or computer or phone?
I want something that records only when movement is detected and that I can review later. snapshots are sufficient

I also want this to either be outside and transmit via wireless to device inside
or be able to detect and record through the window
it will take photos and videos and save them to a drive on your network, yes. Yes you must be connected to a network. It does include motion detection. I don't think this is made for outdoors.
