I grabbed one of these because the price was low, and the specs seemed good. Overall, for the low price on this camera, I feel like I got a reasonable device.
The microphone on this camera really surprised me. It was able to pick up some really low volume sounds at a reasonable distance. I was sure it would have problems doing that, so it was a nice surprise.
The video is a little bit of a different story. There is a neat feature where you can record two video streams at once. A lower bit rate version for posting on-line, and a higher bit rate version for other uses. On my first use, I had that setting enabled. Both of the videos came out a little blurry, not enough that it would bother most people, but some of the finer details in the video just didn't show up very well. (I am wondering if the quality would be better if I had it only record one stream at a time.) The higher bit-rate video had some tearing that looked like it was caused by interlacing, which really confused me as this camera claims to be a 1080p device. (That said, the settings in the menu seem to indicate it is a 1080i device. I didn't see anything that indicate it could do non-interlaced video.) The tearing was annoying, but I know that if I run it through a deinterlacing filter in a video editing program, it will probably look just fine. (But, be prepared to do that!)
The layout of the files on the SD card is somewhat confusing. There is an "MP_ROOT" directory that stores the lower bit rate video, and a "PRIVATE" directory that if you dig in deep enough you will find the higher bit rate video. The "PRIVATE" directory appears to be laid out in the format used for blu-ray discs, so I wouldn't be surprised if the software that you can download for the camera can burn to a blu-ray disc with little effort. (I have not tried the software yet.)
Overall, if you are looking for a no-frills digital camcorder for recording school performances, kids sporting events, and other family things, this camera will do just fine.

Picked one of these up for both general video recording, and to use in the outdoors. I loved the idea of being able to control it remotely via my phone. Unfortunately, the idea was better than the execution.
The video was terrible. It was really noisy and grainy unless you put it in 720p mode. The audio was equally horrible. It couldn't pick up the sound of someone talking in a normal voice from 5 feet away.
The Android app was a whole different horrible story! After installing it and running it on my Nexus 5 running Android 5, my "home" button stopped working. The app also crashed or locked up any time I tried to do anything with it. Also, when the camera was recording, you couldn't put the phone to sleep. Pressing the power button made the screen flash off for a second and then come right back on.
Overall, the only thing I liked about this camera is that it didn't need a special case to be ruggedized enough to use in the elements. Pretty much everything else about it was sub-standard. I returned it the next morning.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: 7 HDMI inputs along with plenty of other types
What's not so great: Not the best looking receiver out there
I've been a Pioneer fan for a good long time. Over that time, I have had very few problems with their equipment. And the problems I have had have happened after using the equipment for a good long time.
I picked this receiver to use in my new basement home theater. Included in my setup are Definitive Audio speakers in a 7.1 setup, and an 80" Sharp Aquos TV. This receiver paired with those speakers easily provide the best sounding home theater setup I have heard outside of specially designed show rooms.
This receiver also has 7 HDMI inputs on it. This is great because I have a lot of video game systems and other types of entertainment devices connected. I am currently using 5 of the 7 connections. There are also plenty of other types of inputs such as component and composite.
The receiver itself isn't the best looking out of all of the receivers I have seen. In fact, I find it kind of ugly. However, it is installed in an AV closet so I don't have to see it. This also makes the fact that it can show you the volume level on screen (when you adjust it) really handy. The network connection is also handy as it allows you to use the smartphone app to name the various inputs instead of trying to peck them out using the on screen keyboard.
Overall, I am quite happy with this purchase!

What's great about it: Easy to install once you understand the instructions
What's not so great: Price
I picked up some of these because I had not ordered enough for my new home theater room, and I wanted to finish the installation that weekend. There isn't a lot to say about them. They are connectors. They "hang on" to the wire using a pressure connection that involves a small plastic washer. I suspect that as long as you don't disconnect/reconnect them a lot that won't be a problem. However, it seems that the small washer could easily break, which would make the rest of the connector useless.
Other connectors I used in the install have no plastic parts, and seem like they will hold up better over time. However, these seem like they will work fine for a good amount of time themselves.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Can this be used for a webcam?
Could I plug this into my computer and use it as a webcam while live streaming (such as on Twitch)?

It doesn't appear to support doing that. When you plug it in to your computer, it shows up as a Memory Technology Device (MTD), which is used to transfer data from memory cards to the computer. So, the video stream doesn't appear to make it to the computer. The camera also enters a "playback only mode" when connected via USB, so it is unlikely that there are any hacks that would let you work around that.

DVD copies
Can DVD copies be made on my computer. Already transferred all of my old VCR tapes to DVD's using my computer.
Yes. You may need to have some basic video editing software in order to transcode the video to the proper format for writing to a DVD, but it can be done. Note, however, that the video recorded is high-def video, so a DVD will end up being a lower quality version of the video. With blu-ray disc burners and discs being so cheap, you would probably be better off burning to a blu-ray.
