What's great about it: the packaging

What's not so great: everything but the packaging

This device worked a few times and then refused to connect to any of my devices. Did everything I could to troubleshoot it myself. I searched the internet and www.rocketfish.com, read the user manual, FAQs, even the forum. All to no avail. I don't think I'll ever buy another Rocket Fish device unless it's something like a stand or case. Very disappointing.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Samsung S3 to Sony KDL-40NX803

Confused: you say phones with "Allsharecast" will work with "Miracast" yet you contradict that by saying it only works on Android 4.2.1 and above.
My S3 (GT i9305) Lte has "Allsharecast" so it should work...Yes? and yet it is running Android 4.1.2 Jellybean.....which is below your stated "Android 4.2.1" .....so it won't work?......Confused!

If you can clarify that with a definite "Yes", the next question is will it work with my Sony KDL-40NX803

No, it won't work. These are defective and can be returned for store credit as long as it's within one year of purchase.

I keep getting a audio delay when streaming video to the receiver, is there a fix for this?

I ended up returning mine almost a year after I bought it. BB asked no questions and gave me a gift card for what I paid for it.

Will this device mirror what is on a Windows 7 Monitor display?

I am trying to wirelessly connect a Dell PC to a Samsung HD TV. Both have HDMI ports. I need to be able to mirror what is shown on the PC's monitor; e.g. AutoCAD drawings. Will this device perform the functions I need?

If not, can you recomend a device that will? I need a wireless solution.

Unfortunately not. Only Windows 8 and above have Miracast built in.

i am using a Windows 8.1 laptop. Appreciate if you can provide details on how to configure the laptop to synchronize with the TV

I just bought a new Miracast video receiver. i am able to see the start up screen on my TV but not able to connect or configure from my laptop. Appreciate any help with the same

I have a Lenovo Miix 2 8in tablet with Windows 8.1 and I tried everything. I even joined Rocketfish.com's forum and the Rocketfish moderator tried to tell someone asking about Windows 8.1 and he said Windows doesn't support Miracast. THis was a recent posting too. Another member had to explain to the moderator that yes, it actually does support it.

Suffice it to say I could never get mine to work. I have given up and am going to try to send it in to be replaced under the warranty. Otherwise I'll be abandoning it at the Best Buy customer service counter.

Use a powered USB hub or if your HDMI ports are version 1.4 then you may not need an additional power source. I.E. just plug it in and see if it works.

No, but you can from an Android tablet or phone running Android OS version 4.2.1.

Get a powered usb hub and plug it into that.

Or if your HDMI ports on your TV are HDMI 1.4 you may not need a separate power source.
