what is cache buffer and is 8mb better than 12mb or 32mb?
•8MB cache buffer
For increased processing speed.
A hard disk is quite slow compared to the speed of RAM. To improve performance of a hard drive, there is a relatively small amount of RAM included. When the hard disk is accessed, the drive will "remember" the data by placing it in the cache. Next time you need it, the cache RAM will respond which is much faster than actual disk access. So, the more cache you have, the better. In practice, however, there is diminishing returns for cache larger then 8MB. Hope this helps.
