For several years now, I've owned an ION turntable. Yes, it was cheap but it got the job done. One thing that I've noticed, however, is that its frequency response has always been rather poor. Bass was incredibly low and I could hear the record playing at the needle, which always struck me as odd. But at the time I bought it specifically to do some record-to-CD conversions and I could always run it through an equalizer while mastering the audio to bump of the lower frequencies.
This past year, I designed and built a new entertainment meant specifically to hold all of my LPs and 45s, the vast majority of which are from the 1980s, and I decided to buy a new turntable to start listening to them again. Knowing that AT turntable was always a highly rated unit, I decided to go for it.
Two things immediately jumped out at me when everything was done.
The first is that this beast is HEAVY compared to the cheapy ION turntable. The ION weighed at most 9 pounds, which was fine for the roll-out shelf I had it on. But the AT turntable came in at a whopping (relatively speaking) 23 pounds! The unit was definitely designed to stay seated and minimize any external vibrations. I ended up replacing the rolling shelf supports in my A/V rack with heavy-duty supports, just to be safe.
The second (and most important for me) is that the bass was much, much stronger. Yes, the overall audio quality was superior, but after playing one track from "Rubber Soul" I said to my wife, "I actually hear bass from my records now!"
I know that records are coming back (although I'm not naive enough to think that they'll be anywhere near as popular as they were before), but at least now I have a turntable that makes vinyl worth listening to again.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I recently got new hardware in my studio by replacing my old, mid-tower cases with some of the Intel NUC micro-PCs. These units come with Bluetooth built in, I didn't want wires all over the place, and because I use two PCs on that desk I wanted some smaller keyboards to increase available desk space. I happened to be in Best Buy one night and saw these. They're absolutely the right price and size for what I wanted, so I took the chance and bought two of them. Each NUC connected to its respective keyboard without issue, and I've probably reclaimed about 50% of the space from when I used two full-sized keyboards. They have a solid feel, and I've experienced no problems with them so far.
The only thing I haven't been able to determine yet is how well the batteries last, but I make sure to turn the keyboards off when I'm done and I only use rechargeable batteries. So unless the batteries run dry every few uses (which I doubt), this keyboard was exactly what I was looking for.

Grand Theft Auto V Standard Edition - PlayStation 3
Grand Theft Auto V Standard Edition - PlayStation 3
Los Santos: a sprawling sun-soaked metropolis full of self-help gurus, starlets and fading celebrities, once the envy of the Western world, now struggling to stay afloat in an era of economic uncertainty and cheap reality TV. Amidst the turmoil, three very different criminals plot their own chances of survival and success: Franklin, a former street gangster, now looking for real opportunities and serious money; Michael, a professional ex-con whose retirement is a lot less rosy than he hoped it would be; and Trevor, a violent maniac driven by the chance of a cheap high and the next big score. Running out of options, the crew risks everything in a series of daring and dangerous heists that could set them up for life.Grand Theft Auto V is the largest and most ambitious game Rockstar Games has yet created and takes full advantage of every ounce of processing power available in the current generation of consoles. In order to provide the best possible experience for such a massive and detailed world, the game will have installation requirements on the PlayStation 3 system. Grand Theft Auto V ships on one disc and will install content as soon as you insert the game. The install is roughly 8GB, and players will be able to play as soon as the install is complete.

What's great about it: Intertwined and complex storyline, graphics engine is incredible, LOTS of things to do
What's not so great: Some disturbing scenes of violence
This is not a game for kids. Do I need to repeat that? This is not a game for kids. Swearing, violence, and even torture are part of this game. Do not buy this game for kids, okay?
This game has three storylines that merge into one: a street gang member who wants to be better than what he is, an ex-thief who just wants to settle down with his family, and a psychopath who ... just wants to be a psychopath. All three of their stories combine to form an overall arc that makes up the heart of GTA V.
This game is the largest GTA to date. The city/island of Los Santos is absolutely immense but it's very richly defined: a gorgeous city, towering mountains, sandy deserts, coastal beaches, and industrial zones are all shown in brilliant detail. Rockstar tweaked the graphics engine so well that there is very little of the blurry-to-sharp snap graphics that were a part of previous GTAs, the detail levels even from a distance are glorious to behold, and the day/night and dynamic weather are the most realistic of any game I've every played.
There are almost 70 missions available to the three characters will a huge number of side missions and "to do" activities, such as skydiving, tennis, golf, and water racing. Combine that with just wanting to drive or fly around to take in the environment, and there is an easy potential for over 40 hours of gameplay.
Because the game is meant to be somewhat realistic, it's loaded with swearing and the "n" word. There are some areas where the violence level feels like it goes beyond necessary, including a torture scene that even made me cringe. The violence is balanced, however, by the strong storyline, lots of humor scattered about, and the fact that you feel empathy for the characters. Interestingly, the psychotic is without question the funniest and most intriguing character in the game.
Again, this game is NOT for kids. There's a reason why it's an M-rated game. However, the huge amount of things to do, the complex storyline, and the incredible graphics engine make this a game that any fan on open-world games should play.
This product has... Excessive violence

What's great about it: Excellent price
What's not so great: Ridiculously slow transfer rates
Although I can't argue with the price, I can very much argue with the appallingly slow speed of the SanDisk Cruzer line. On average, I get about 3 MB/sec transfer rates with this unit. Compare that to my five-year-old Patriot USB drive that gets about 22 MB/sec or my even older PNY USB drive that gets about 17 MB/sec.
If you don't care about speed, you can't beat the price for the Cruzer line; however, there is a reason why it's so cheap - you're greatly sacrificing speed for capacity. Even with the low price, it's still mind-boggling to me that a brand new USB stick can be so easily outclassed by much older USB sticks.

Hi. Would this support 220V? Thank you

Best Buy's specifications are sorely lacking. As per the actual technical specifications on Audio-Technica's site, it supports 115/230V AC, 60/50 Hz.

Does keypad have BT plug like mouse or does computer have to have built in BT receivers

These do not come with Bluetooth or other adapters like Logitech and Microsoft hardware usually do. You will need to get a separate adapter or use a system that has Bluetooth built in.
