Avoid. D-Link has been aware of security issues for a while, continues to promise fixes, but they don't come. Spend a little more, go with a company that actually updates their software.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hotel Firewalls

Will this camera work if taking it to Hotels, especially if you have a login page? For example...going to a LQ and setting up in a hotel room and you have a login page to agree to..to use wifi.
You won't be able to have it authenticate through a web page, just standard wifi authentication protocols.
