The HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw is a quiet and fast color printer for doing a lot of pages quickly. It also does scanning and photo printing comparable or better than most laser printers is its class. It is very easy to use and has a footprint similar to a large inkjet.
Removing and setting up the printer was easy as I followed the instructions for extraction printed on the box then I unpacked the cables and setup directions. The toner is already installed. I did the wireless setup with no hiccups on both Windows and Macs and used it with both Android and iOS. This printer has more wireless options than any other printer I have owned. The touchscreen on the printer is functional and allows monitoring operations without using the computer. I download the printer’s software to my computer from 123.hp.com/laserjet – Two files (simple to do).
The overall operation is easy for printing, copying, scanning and faxing. It does a great job doing duplex printing – saving paper (and trees).
Cost of toner cartridges is high but due to number of pages that can be printed the cost per page should be less than an inkjet.

I started with the “Nanoleaf Canvas Smarter Kit” light panels (1x Control Square, 8x Light Squares9x, Canvas Linkers, 28x Mounting Tapes and 1x Power Supply Unit (25W, 110vac ~ 240vac)) and played with a few basic designs. Because they can run canned programs of light shows the layout design needs to take into account the changeability of the colors.
- And here is where I changed my mind about what I wanted to do.
Instead of wall mounting I decided to use them as a light source for a glass collection (vases etc.). Placed flat with the vases sitting on top of the squares allows me to illuminate the vases from their base. I really like the look. I will be getting more squares for more vases and also for traditional wall designs.

The setup was flawless and easy. Being LED they have very low heat output and very low power consumption. They work well with Smart Home Integration and cell phone – Android & iOS.
Light weight and attractive they are a great (green? -and a lot of other colors)energy efficient light source.

I prefer this flat screen over a curved screen for a better understanding of perspective. If you are mostly after cinema you may prefer the more expensive curved type of screens.
The setup of the monitor was fast with an easy to assemble base that is attractive, space conserving yet a very stable platform when assembled properly. Assembly is easy with only 3 main parts no screwdriver or wrench required.
Height adjustment and tilt are on a par with most desktop monitors. The upper and side bezels are very thin while I did not find the bottom slightly thicker bezel to be aesthetically objectionable.
I used the monitor with both Mac and PC systems. The monitor has good software for use on both platform setups (Mac and PC) included on a DVD or CD rom disk.
The game play was crisp and the detail good as I sat a little further away from the screen because it is so wide (I love it). The monitor boast HDR which is nice and overall brightness is great even in a bright room. It has minimal connections (2 HDMI), but that is sufficient for my image editing / game play.
Very nice easy to set up and use.

The Oculus Rift S is possibly the easiest entry point into PC-based Virtual Reality (VR). Setup is both FAST and EASY. I have worked with VR and AR (Augmented Reality) from the “insert your own smartphone” to room sized dedicated simulators. Setup of the Rift S is very fast once the software has been downloaded. It needs no external tracking stations and has very good visuals. Comfort is at a high level, easily achieved due to easy fitting to the individual, lightweight and good ergonomics. With the new controllers the Rift S has great usability providing a very nice user experience (UX). Due to backward compatibility with the original Rift a plethora of content is available. The Rift S provides a very user-friendly and comfortable headset with fewer USB connections and no need for separate tracking stations compared to the original Rift. The tracking has proven to be awesome. The Rift S also has enough room for eyeglasses. Set up is the easiest I have experienced.
Wishes – True wireless, higher video refresh rate and USB-C headphones capability.

Nice clean, solid bass (very solid). Crisp highs. Very light weight, nice comfortable over the ear fit. The on headset controls are easy to remember and use (they also are well marked visually). The battery life is great, allowing for multi-day use on one charge (they also have a quick charge capability where 10 Min charge = 3 Hours of Play). Use the 4 LED fuel gauge by pressing the power button (even if they are off) and you will see your battery level on the LEDs. 100% = 4 white lights, 75% = 3 white lights, 50% = 2 white lights, 25% = 1 white light, <5% = 1 red light. If you desire, you can also use tethered, so you never have to skip a beat. You can pair up to 2 devices at the same time, but only one device can stream at a time. The ANC (active noise cancelling) is adjustable and quite capable. The Bluetooth range extended to around 100 feet for me (no obstructions). This is a great addition to their well-received line of audio products. In short, they offer a great listening experience in an attractive headset.

The Bose Soundbar 700 comes with Alexa voice control built-in and will probably add other voice control apps in the future. The Soundbar 700 appears to be an upgrade to the earlier, superb, SoundTouch 300. It lives up to the Bose tradition of being stylish and functional while providing aurally pleasing audio. Bose has been providing superior audio products as long as I can remember, and this is no exception. The 700 provides crisp clean audio that crosses the line of superb music to great home theater in a compact package. I have replaced all of my older 7.1 systems with Bose units – the 300, 500 and 700 series plus their subwoofers. The software and firmware are constantly being upgraded, with new features and adaptation to changing industry standards. I used the iOS app to do the setup – it took about an hour to complete the entire setup. Just follow the directions and you will have awesome audio. The ability to use Alexa to control all of my systems verbally is great and at the leading edge of the IoT. I feel the fit and finish of the speaker is at the top of its class. Mine fills a larger and more varied than recommended space with rich clean sound from highs to lows (lows produced by the 700 subwoofer). I will probably add the Bose Surround Speakers at some point but at this time I am quite happy as is. Pure class – great sound!

If you need to (and you may not) up the bass over the already rich bass of the Bose 500 sound bar, The perfect answer is to up the system by adding the Bose 500 bass speaker to the mix. Attractive and very functional. the 500 system works with Alexa. - nice.

What is the difference between the designer series and the classic blender? Can they be used commercially? Which is more rugged?
The major difference between the two series appears to be the number of functions, with the Designer Series having the most settings. Blendtec also has a series of pro blenders. You can do a search for Blendtec/commercial. They both seem to be very rugged.

Best way to get clear low light shots with action
What is the best way to achieve good motion shots in low light on this camera? I am frequently trying to capture images or video in poorly lighted gyms or auditoriums. Is there a recommended preset that handles these conditions well?
Use the highest ISO you are comfortable with digital noise wise. Preferably 3200 or above. Shoot at the widest aperture preferred setting 1.8 at 28mm if possible. This will give you the fastest shutter speed possible. Last but not least pan with your subject. - good shooting!
