Ok, this is the coolest thing since sliced bread. If you have an automatic garage door opener, then obviously you have a remote to open it from your car as you are pulling up. But, this eliminates the need for you to be right out in front of your house to open the door. I have actually taken my garage door remote out of my car for security reasons (in case someone breaks into my car and gets my address and remote). Now, I use ONLY the app to open the door when I'm about 2 blocks away, so I don't have to wait for it to open when I pull up. To keep people from opening the app on your phone and getting into the garage, you can set the app to open with a password or 4 digit PIN (or, if you're not worried about such things, you can set the app to open with no security#. I have already used it to remotely open my garage door when I was out of town, and my neighbor had to pull my trash can in. He called me, told me he was standing right outside my garage, I used the app to open the door #from 1 state away#, he put the can in, then I closed it from the app. Also, I have a friend who has one of these #but DOES NOT have an exterior garage door opener keypad# who has gotten a phone call or two from children who are home from school, but have "lost" or "forgot" the key to the house, and can't get in. PRESTO, right from work, they can open the garage door and let them in. WAY COOL. #ok, I'm a big tech nerd#.
Two reasons why it is "almost perfect": 1. The first part of the setup is getting it hooked up to your home wifi network. While the setup is not exactly rocket science, you do have to follow the steps carefully to get it all hooked up correctly. If you are someone who is "tech challenged", this may be a challenging step, but not impossible. The second part of the setup is getting it to talk to the garage door opener itself. Again, while not terribly difficult, it did take a little time. After I programed the MyQ to the door opener, I had to reprogram the car remote #in case I needed to put it back in my car# and I also had to reprogram the exterior remote keypad #the one attached to the garage door frame exterior#.
2. This is the most annoying thing about this, and I have called Chamberlain to complain/alert them about this, but I don't know how much good it did. There is a sensor that has to be attached to the garage door itself to sense the status of the door #open or closed#, and it is VERY sensitive. If the door is CLOSED and jiggles AT ALL #strong wind, someone bumping against it, etc...# the door sensor moves and sometimes thinks the door has opened. So, you go to the app and expect the door to say closed, but the system thinks it is "open", and shows it open #but it is still closed#. Sometimes it gets confused, and I have had to cycle the garage door from the push button opener in the garage #the one mounted on the wall next to the door that goes into the house#. This usually resets it. If the garage door is not jiggled, then it works perfectly. I have been looking for a different place to mount the sensor, but haven't really found anywhere on the door that is "jiggle proof" #MAYBE at the very bottom of the door, it seems that when the door is closed and butted against the cement of the garage floor, it seems to jiggle there less than higher up on the door#.
Also, keep in mind that it takes wifi to work, so if your home wifi network or internet, or power to your router/modem goes down, this will not work until it is restored.
Having understood these "limitations" or "quirks", the convenience of having this outweighs those "quirks", and I love it. I would definitely recommend this to a friend, and already have.

What's great about it: quiet, reliable, fast, WD name, 6GB interface
What's not so great: none
When ever I build a computer, I tend to use the same brands for each specific piece of hardware. For hard drives, I always use Western Digital. I have NEVER had a problem with their drives in general, and not with this drive specifically. I even still have a Dell that is 10+ years old with a WD drive and that computer is still in use and the hard drive is working great. I just put this 1TB in my last build, and it performs as expected and is quiet (I don't even here it while in use). I wish the price were a BIT cheaper, but that's not enough to deter me from buying it. It comes with a 2 year warranty to boot (ha, no pun intended). The WD black label drives are a little faster and come with a little longer warranty (and meant more for performance), and cost just a bit more, so if you are not gaming or need some sort of super lightning speed, this drive is great for general home or business use. I am about ready to build another computer for a friend, and will be buying this same drive for that one as well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Star Wars
What's not so great: does not include the original theater versions
It's always great to have Star Wars on blu-ray, but this does not include the original theater version of 4, 5, & 6, only the "remastered" versions. I have the originals on DVD, but blu-ray would be nice.

What's great about it: plug and play
What's not so great: maybe a TAD pricey
Needed a wireless adapter for an older Samsung 3D blu-ray player, and this does the job. Found my 5 GHz network no problem, good signal strength. I got it on sale, but I still think it could be a little less expensive.

Compatibillity

I have a Samsung un46c6300sf tv. Which wireless ubs lan adapters are compatible with this tv? In the manual it calls for wis09abgn, but this seems to be discontinued. Thanks alot !!!!
I have a BD-D5500 blu ray player, and the manual has the same older model wireless stick listed. I emailed samsung and they said the wis12abgnx is just an updated model from the 09 version, and it does indeed work in my BD-D5500. But if it doesn't work, you can always buy it from best buy and return it if it doesn't work.

I have a Samsung Blu-Ray disk player, model number BD-E5500. Is the Samsung wireless adaptor model number wis12abgnx compatible with this player?

Not your exact model, but I have a BD-D5500 and I got this stick specifically for it, since it does not have built in wifi, and it works great, even picks up my 5GHz wifi. I'm not sure if that player has built in wifi, but if it does, I'm not sure it will work, I don't think it overrides the built in wifi, but if that model does not have built in wifi, it should work great. And with Best Buys return policy, if you buy it and it doesn't work, you can return it.

Work With ?

Will this work with a model UN55SE6150F model TV? Seems my on-board wifi card/circuit is out of commission...so this device needs to replace or supercede the on-board build in function already there? Will it?
I don't think so. I have a UN46E series TV, and the built in wifi sucks, it has a hard time picking up my 5 GHz wireless. I got this to see if it would help, and the TV didn't seem to recognize it (or if it did, I had no way to tell). But, since your's is not working, maybe it will, but I doubt it. I think the USB port on the back is just to put a thumb drive into with pictures or video on it, then to watch from the TV, I don't think it's built for a wifi adapter. With Best Buy's great return policy, you could buy it, try it, and if it doesn't work, just take it back.
