What's great about it: Sounds Great
What's not so great: It requires it to be plugged into a good power source
I bought this along with a Samsung Smart TV over the holidays. I wound up making an unnecessary trip back to Best Buy to exchange the unit because it was apparently DOA. The exchange was fairly painless and Kudos to the Longmont BB Store for verifying that the exchange worked before I walked out of the store. I was miffed when I got home and the unit didn't work. Upon reading the manual, I discovered that it needed more juice than the circuit I was using, had. Easy fix.
Another Kudos to the rep at Best Buy that recommended the unit. He informed that the basic cable that came with the unit was inadequate. He suggested that I upgrade to an Optical Cable. I thought I was getting the hard sell at first. I got the unit up and running with the included A/V cable at first. I was not impressed with the sound quality. After having the unit up and running for a week, I finally got off my butt and installed the Optical Cable....WOW! What a difference. Well Worth the extra $30!
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Easy setup, works great!
What's not so great: needs line of sight
I use this unit in conjunction with a NetGear RangeMax Dual-Band Wireless N Router. The set up was simple. My only complaint is that it requires a line of sight to interact with the RangeMax. Not a huge deal, but it did require putting the RangeMax on one side of my house which leaves my bedroom with sparse coverage. I am going to install a second one of these to eliminate that issue.
One side note: The manual states that the extender will suffer from a little lag. I have not had any lag issues whatsoever on my 5mb high-speed connection being rebroadcasted to this unit.
Overall I would give it a 4.9 out of 5. Great Price and simple to setup.

Digital Optical Cable
Is there a Digital Optical Cable included with this soundbar or is that a separate purchase? I've heard that the best way to connect a soundbar to a TV is through a digital optical cable, so I'm wondering if I need to purchase that separately?
Also, Is it better to connect a TV directly to the soundbar using Digital Optical Cable or HDMI?

It includes a lousy AV Cable only. I purchased an Optical Cable and it was a night and day difference in sound quality. There is an option to use an HDMI Cable too, I haven't tried that.

Can you hook an ipod up and play through it?
Yes, you can hook it up with a Cable or if your iPod has Bluetooth, you can connect to the unit via Bluetooth by setting the source to BT.

Does this come will brackets to hang on the wall?
Yes, it includes an optional bracket to mount it on the wall.
