Best Buy failed to renew the license on the older cord. Forcing me to buy a new cord anyway. Cord stopped working after 3 years because apple requires a chip. Chip is deactivated if Best Buy doesn't pay for them year after year. Making the cord worthless. How does a peice of cord stop working, that's how.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: It is very easy to connect to devices
What's not so great: Worked poorly with garageband
I'm very happy with this device. I had an original Bose Soundlink and they seem to have improved the connectivity on this model. My original will not connect to my Mac Mini but this one does. It affords me some additional room on my little desk. I have one of those tiny $40 desks from Ikea. There is not enough room for a textbook. However I can fit this little SoundLink mini and have one less cord. By using bluetooth I do not use up a USB nor do I fill the headphone jack. I use my computer as a TV now. I'd recommend it for any Dorm room setting. Also you can easily pick up the speaker and move it to a shelf or bring it to an outdoor event. I've been tempted to throw a dance party while waiting for the bus.

What's great about it: Easy Set up
What's not so great: screw driver not included.
I was impressed with the quality of the instructions and easy set up. All holes were pre-drilled AND a metal insert was already in place with machine threads to assist perfect assembly each time. We're even going to get a second one to have a matching set for another side of the room. The Lamp shade a thick high quality fabric that cast a warm glow on the room. Again can't help but remark on how well it was designed. Took less than 7 minutes to set up.

BOSE Mini
I have a Samsung Smart TV and just purchased this Bose MINI. Before I open it I would like to know if it is compatible and will it provide a quality sound?
I have a Samsung Smart TV (from 2011) and the Bose Soundlink Mini. I do not use them together nor do I think they would work well together. though, I don't remember my TV having bluetooth. Nor does my Soundlink take an audio-in line from the TV. Maybe newer TVs have bluetooth. If they do, it would work great!
I use the Sounlink for quality sound from my Mac Mini. It is connect to the computer via bluetooth which is nice that it does not require one of the few USB ports and the audio port can still be free for headphones.
