Brought one of these machines home a couple of days ago and was very pleased about everything the form factor, the feel of the keyboard, speed, screen etc... EXCEPT WiFi performance was awful. Logging on to Lenovo's website I downloaded the latest drivers and installed all Windows updates from Microsoft. Still, no go on the WiFi. Sometimes it performs OK, but sometmes it completely loses connectivity. I'm not talking external connectivity, but rather, I can't ping my router's internal gateway. I returned to BestBuy and swapped it out for another only to come home and discover the exact same issues with the replacement,
So I dug deeper online and discovered that there are issues with the Qualcom Atheros WiFi chip on this machine and Verizon FIOS routers where the WMM QoS service is enabled (as it is by default). Disabling this setting improved WiFi remarkably. However, that particular setting on the router is meant to prioritize Video streaming over your network, so I'm worried that it's going to negatively affect Netflix.
I'm still deciding whether to keep this second machine or return it, too. I've got a couple of other WiFi connected laptops at home an none experiences this issue, so I'm pretty certain it's specific to this Qualcomm chip. I've got to see how it performs in networks other than my home one, and get a feel for my Netflix eperience over a few days and then, I guess, I'll decide which way to go.
I don't know whether this is Verizon's fault or Lenovo's, but unfortunately until this WiFi issue is resolved, I can't really recommend the laptop. Which is a shame because, other than that, it's simply an awesome machine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Build, price
What's not so great: screen
Picked up a Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 a coupled of days ago to replace my ASUS TF300. The ASUS had proved a sad disappointment due to the slow and clunky performance of the Chrome web browser, which is important to me because I mostly use my tablets for web surfing, as well as some casual gaming.
After a few days of usage I can say that I'm thoroughly satisfied with the Galaxy Tab 4. Operation is smooth, and the device is astonishingly thin and light. It's a pleasure to hold in the hand. I haven't run any truly high horsepower games on the machine, but it runs Pinball Arcade with aplomb, which is my one sine-qua-non gaming requirement.
The screen is a horse of a different color, however. In the interests of releasing an affordable device, Samsung has chosen to include a fairly low-resolution screen with the Galaxy Tab 4. At 1280 x 800, small text is noticeably grainy. This is no retina display, not by a long shot, and reading the home page of the New York Times, for instance, without zooming, is a somewhat unpleasant affair. That said, you don't have to zoom in very far before text is easy to read (even if it will never be as sharp and clean as the text on an iPad). There are advantages to a low resolution screen, however. With less pixels to push, the processor is less taxed, and scrolling and zooming functions are generally smooth and quick. The device feels quite peppy.. in fact, it feels much more fluid to me than the Galaxy Tab Pro I tried at the same store.
All in all, I'm quite satisfied. This is an affordable device that delivers in the performance area. No the screen isn't the sharpest around, but it gets the job done. Would definitely buy another one if I had it to do again.
This product is... responsive touch screen, easy to set up, Variety of apps available, Easy to navigate, Comfortable to hold

I would recommend this to a friend!

How do I set up a split screen?

Windows 10 allows you to split the screen in up to four quadrants by dragging windows quickly to the left or right or off to the corners. You kind-of "flick" them in that direction. On this particular machine, with a small 11.6" screen size you'll probably want to stick to windowing two applications side by side, this way, but technically you can split your screen in up to four slices.

Can this Tablet be connected to a cellular plan?

This particular model does not have a built in cell modem. You can always tether to your cellphone, if your plan allows it. The said, i believe I've read that Samsung will soon be releasing models of this device with built-in 3G/LTE capability
