What's great about it: Easy set up, does what it was designed to do
I love the Bose Solo. I no longer rewind, or interrupt a show, to find out what was said. Need I say more. Listening to music? Then switch over to your Bose 321. The Bose Solo is designed to enhance voice sound, and that it does VERY well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What is the maximum weight capacity of the Bose Solo Sound?

I have a Sharp Aquos, 42" (I think). Will the Boze Solo Sound tolerate this much weight?
The Bose Solo can hold no more than 40 lbs (18 kg).

Suround sound system

My TV is cabled to 4 speakers, one in each corner of the living room below the ceiling and controlled with one remote for all - TV, Dish, sound. How will this work with only one sound system?
The Bose Solo is not a surround sound system. The Bose Solo is designed to enhance voice sound on a TV set, and it does this very, very well. The Solo could be added to your TV and used as needed. The Bose has its own remote, and I haven't found how to integrate it with the universal remote - and I don't think it can happen.

I have a Sony Bravia 40" TV

Is this OK ?
It´s okay. Your TV set base can be no wider than 20", and no deeper than 10 1/4" for your set to sit atop the Bose Solo. The Solo can sit on a separate shelf close to the TV set. I have a Bose Solo attached to a Sony Bravia 32" and if I didn´t like my Sony sound system so well, I would have a Bose Solo on my 40" Bravia as well.

TV is in bar cabinet

My TV is in a bar cabinet, how will this affect the sound?
I'm using an armoire style cabinet. The directions say to be sure to place the Solo as close to the front edge of the shelf as possible. This done, I can tell you that the sound is fantastic. In fact, I have the Solo sandwiched between two shelves, with the TV on the upper shelf. The sound is great, no reverberations. Should you have some issues given your particular setup, the Solo audio sound can be adjusted (see page 20 in the manual).

Sound for a 60 inch

I love Bose products, how well will the sound be with my 60 inch. My living room is 21' X 17'.
Or, should I go with a different unit!
Your room size is not an issue, but the Solo is designed for TVs 42" and under. You definitely could not place your tv set on top of the Solo.

what other cables are needed to connect this unit to the tv?

I just bought a new tv and the speakers like all new TV's are not facing outward. So I needed a sound bar and since Bose is a good product I decided to get this. So what other cables do I did to get make this happen?
The Bose Solo comes with two connection cords: a RCA plug and an optical digital cord. Coaxials can be used but are not provided.

Can I connect my Hi-Fi system to the Bose Solo in addition to the TV?

Can my Hi-Fi system be connected to the Bose Solo at the same time as being connected to the TV?
I have both the Bose Solo and a Bose 321 hooked up to my TV, and I can easily switch between the two systems. You may be disappointed if you are wanting to use the Solo for music. The Solo is designed to enhance voice sound. The Solo provides two connection cords: RCA plug and optical digital. Three devices can be connected to the Solo via one each: RCA, optical, and coaxial.
