In comparison to my Boston Acoustics bar (which I had intended to replace)... too many things are lacking. I bought the bar because of its bluetooth capability, but I don't like the following: the bluetooth does not stay associated with your device (you have to connect the device - phone in my case) every time. The sub is not very powerful. You have to crank up the volume to make it thump. This might be the sound bar you're looking for if you don't want to make much noise for your neighbors. It's a nice add on to your tv sound, but no theater type sound like I get from my BA. Along the same lines, you cannot power off the sub by itself (no power button/switch - just uplugging it). There is a sub power level accessibly only through the remote (which I admit, is great to have), but there is only a slight change possible. You can't completely mute it (it's always on). One thing I like about my BA is the ability to turn it off to watch tv at night. The last thing BA does better is the ability to program your tv remote to the bar (I have WAY too many remotes as it is).
I think that's it. To recap, if you're looking for home theater type sound, look elsewhere. You cannot program your tv remote to it. You cannot turn off the sub unless you unplug it.
I'm taking mine back to the store. Even considering the awesome black friday price I got it for...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My portable drives tend to go out right after the warranty expires, soo... at least for now, so far so good... it's a good looking drive that also feels solid (unlike the WD's that I've had).

I've had this set for months now, and it hasn't let me down. It has excellent sound. The bass is the best out of any set I've tried. It has superb battery life (I've been able to use the set after weeks on standby). The range (at least at the gym - a large 24hr fitness super sport) is darn good too. The last bit of praise is the rubber compounds used for the ear muffs (which also have great noise attenuation - in and out). Now for the downsides... much like any over-the-ear headset, you can hear the thud when you run (but if you're like me, you crank it up and get used to it). The only other thing this set could use is a working mic while using it wirelessly. Other than that, well worth the price.

Does the sound come out of the front or each end of the bar?
Sound comes from the front.

well a head set plug into the sound bar
No. There is an aux in, but no out.
