What's great about it: This case has leather all around front and back. IPad is able to stand up in horizontal position without being held..
What's not so great: Can not stand up in vertical position on it's own.
I bought this case for my wife's iPad 2. It has leather all around. It will protect your iPad very well. The case has built in notches on the cover so it can stand horizontally on it's own. It also will shut screen off automatically when cover is closed. It also has a nice elastic strap to hold it closed. My wife loved it so much that when she later bought an iPad 3 she bought the same exact case for it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: You can have iPad stand up in either horizontal or vertical positions
What's not so great: I wish it had an elastic strap to hold it closed when putting in book bag.
I have had a few different brands and types of cases for my previous iPads. When I bought the iPad air I looked for something that would allow iPad to stand horizontal or vertical on it's own. I wanted it strong enough to protect iPad if it was dropped. It would have to fold up very easily and be comfortable to hold in my lap or hands for reading like a book.
I wanted it to be pleasing to the eye. This product fit my requirements totally . It even shows the Apple logo through the back so everyone can see you have an APPLE IPAD.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does this case support the SMART COVER feature?

I understand it's for the iPad Air but will it activate the open/close smart cover functionality available on the iPad?
No it does not. I DID NOT want this feature.
