What's great about it: Perfect size, good feel.
What's not so great: Trackpad is too small, hard to press the buttons.
This is great to use in the lap, or for typing, and is a nice cover for the Surface. If I need to do a lot of mouse work I plug in a mouse. (I love trackpads on laptops - this is the first laptop trackpad in years that I do not like.)
Attaches and detaches easily, but I rarely remove it. Backlit keys are very nice, and the brightness is adjustable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Size, speed, pen input,accesories
What's not so great: Text is a bit small on the desktop.
I have been intrigued with tablets for awhile, but with a laptop that goes with me to work and client's homes constantly, and a smartphone, I did not want or need a third electronic device. So for years I have been looking for a full Windows PC, with a digitizer pen, that can also be used like a tablet. I have not been disappointed. After 3 months I am very pleased. Great hardware, Windows 8.1 is fast, runs my Windows programs and Apps, easy to carry, the touch keypad works well, long battery life, and the pen lets me take notes just like with a legal pad.
This product is... responsive touch screen, Good sound quality, easy to set up, lightning fast, Perfect for Business, Variety of apps available, A nice compact size, Sharp graphics, Comfortable to hold

Backlit Effects?
Does the type cover backlit feature affect the surface's performance in any way?
No. I have used the Surface with the Type Cover without any performance issues. You can turn the backlights on/off and adjust the intensity via 2 keys on the keyboard.
