What's great about it: Speed, touch screen, hard drive size

What's not so great: Weight.

So I've had this laptop for about 2 weeks now and I have to say that I'm thoroughly impressed with the speed of the machine. Like so many other reviewers here, I'm not so thrilled with windows 8, but I'm working my way around it (the classic shell hack also helps).

I do a lot of work editing video, and so far it has kept up with me, we'll see how it handles once I load the HDD down, though I doubt it will give me much trouble even then.

Battery life is very good for only being a 4 cell. In tablet reader mode, I average 12 hours (reading books), in normal laptop mode or video, I would guess around 3-4 hours. Watched an entire movie on a plane and still had enough juice to play for another hour before we landed. Oh and in the easel setup, I had no problem using it in economy class seating on the plane.

The only thing that I would suggest to Acer in their next release of this 2 in 1 is the weight... coming in at just over 5 lbs, it doesn't make a very practical tablet, but as that's not what my primary use for this one is going to be, that doesn't bother me all that much.

I would say the absolute best part of this one, it's extremely quiet, even with the fan running at it's highest speed, it's barely audible.

This product is... Good sound quality, A touch pad that works great, Big screen size, easy to set up, lightning fast

About me... Parent with kids, Regularly process large video or graphics files, Comfortable with technology, multi-tasker

I would recommend this to a friend!

windows 8 or 8.1?

What version of windows is included with the R7-572?

It's 8.1, although I suggest doing all the updates as soon as you get it.
