MAC address for Lan Adapter

My router is setup to allow connections by MAC address. My RF-GWII008 Lan Adapter shows a MAC address of 00:00:00:00:00:00. The router will not accept this. What gives? Is there a way to set the MAC address?
Most ( if not all ) routers allow you to change how you want to "protect" your wired/wireless network. I would change the settings from "MAC ADDRESS" to something else.. like WPA2, 64/128bit encryption ( WEP), whatever..
