The provided manual is slightly above average; however, there are some subjects that are murky. Additionally, the manual states that it can record copy righted videos, well on some yes and others no. I also have a Sony DVD Recorder, and it will NOT record copy righted movies from cable or VHS. This Toshiba DVD recorder will record copy righted movies from cable; however, there are quite a few movies in my VHS library, that will NOT record; which is what this device is all about. I suggest that you turn off the auto finalizing feature, as it prevents you from adding titles. This machine's inputs and outputs quantity are impressive.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Easy to set up, great price, good screen size.
What's not so great: Unknown
Screen is large enough to see while driving without having to look away long from the road. Directions given in plenty of time before having to turn. Love the free map updates. I was pleasantly surprised to find ALL of the required cables and suction cup holder provided with the unit! I might purchase another power cable and suction cup holder for my other vehicle. I use this on my truck, car, and motorcycle.

What's great about it: Absolutely nothing
What's not so great: Everything
The installation failed three times. Took the computer and new HDMI television [32 inch Insignia] back to Best Buy. They had to uninstall the partially installed files, and then reinstall it. The text, icons, and graphics are absolutely horrible! Just to insure that the TV wasn't bad, I hooked it up to my cable service, and as usual the Insignia display was crystal clear. So the graphics card and its associated software is the culprit! Stay away from this product!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Need a gps announce lane guidance as well as exits coming up

Need to buy a gps but not sure which one would have this feature
Yes, the Garmin Nuvi50LM unit does show which lane you should take. It even shows the exit sign, when you have to take that particular exit. What is really nice, is that this unit comes with a power cable, USB cable (for updating maps and system updates), and a suction cup holder. There isn't anything else to purchase! None of those "Oh by the way, you need this, that, etc ...!"
