What's great about it: close-up photography, sharp focus
What's not so great: nothing
Had a Micro-NIKKOR 55mm back when I used to shoot with film cameras. That lens was so good I decided to try the new DX version on my D3200. Glad I did. This lens can do everything I expected – and, I expected a lot.
I would recommend this to a friend!

D5300 lens

This is my 1st dslr camara, I'm going to Yellowstone, am I going to be ok with the 18-55mm lens?
Yes, you will be able to shoot from wide-angle (landscapes) to telephoto (close-up and portraits). Normal perspective is about 35mm.

I suggest the Micro Nikkor 40mm lens for extreme close-ups of plants and bugs if you ever purchase another lens.

How can I purchase this lens?

It is marked "unavailable for shipping" also in all stores anywhere near me it is unavailable.
Not sure when you last tried. I was able to walk into my local store and purchase the it right away.
