I had an ASUS RT-AC66U router and it was nice when it was new, but never quite got me consistent coverage throughout my 3000 SF two-story house. I have Comcast Blast! and a few feet away from this router I get 175 Mbps. This gets me solid coverage throughout and in the corner on the second floor farthest away from my router I get 130 Mbps. That is plenty of speed for all of our family's needs. We do plenty of streaming and the absolute best thing about this router is that Apple AirPlay now works flawlessly without any hiccups on any of our Apple TVs. I've had this router for 3 months now and have not experienced any problems.

I would recommend this to a friend!

I was spending $90/month renting 3 DVRs and 3 HD boxes from Comcast. Decided to get the Roamio Plus and 5 Tivo Minis so I could stop paying Comcast $1080/year for rentals. The MoCA system works great and I dropped the rental boxes off with Comcast the day after I made sure all of my Tivos were working. You can save some money purchasing from Amazon as I did or getting BB to price match. $100 less for the Roamio Plus and $25/each less for the Minis.

I would recommend this to a friend!

TiVo - Roamio Plus DVR - Black

Comcast connectivity

I want to replace my 2 rented Comcast devises will the TiVo roamio plus dvr work on 2 tv's in different rooms?
Also does it take a Comcast smart/descramble card that I have to pay Comcast for in order for the TiVo to be activated and work?

I replaced 3 Comcast HD DVRs and 3 HD boxes with a Roamio Plus and 5 Minis networked through my existing coax network. I did upgrade all of my splitters with 2.4GHz splitters from CableMatters.com found on Amazon and also installed a MoCA filter to keep my network contained to my house. You get a M-Card free from Comcast if you return all of their boxes (you're paying for cable service and that's the only way you can get it so they have to provide you one). Works great and I'm very happy to pay up front for the Tivos to avoid $90/month in rental fees.
