I purchased these for my son. He picked them out, not me. (He's 11)
I set them up, which was very easy. I tested them out on one of my tablets and cell phones, neither of which I have ever used headphones with, but both sounded pretty good. I was impressed more by how comfortable they were. Again, I only used them (briefly) to set up & test, so I don't know how they weather after usage, but so far so good. No complaints from him. ;o)
I would recommend this to a friend!

I purchased these for my son, I don't know what site told him that these were awesome, but I beg to differ. A few MUST-KNOW'S: #1- (like almost anything new, you are supposed to charge them fully for optimal results prior to use) This was SUPPOSED to take a couple of hours. It took almost 8! #2- these do not come with instructions. I feel silly saying that, as I would almost think you wouldn't need them....but for these you DEFINITELY DO! the little paper included in the box refers you to the Jaybird website for setup...prepare to watch videos of people running and looking pretty in their Jaybirds. the link the setup for these takes you nowhere. After countless hours of charging & researching to set up, the sun was coming up, so I set them aside. When I woke up to sync them to phones & devices, the were requiring to be charged. THESE WERE RETURNED. EXASPERATED. I'm not even sure if they sound good or not, I never got that far. I just thought that I might save someone else the hassle of buying these without knowing in advance what to expect (or NOT!) as soon as you unbox them. Jaybird should spend a LITTLE more $ on instructions to be included with these, or at least to their site that they refer you to. GOOD LUCK.

I used to have the Bose Companion 3, and I expected these to be as good as (or better than) the Companion 3, which I DID like a lot. Here are the pros: easy setup, solid build (doesn't look or feel cheap). I LIVE on my computer, and I listen to music 24/7, so I was willing to spend more to have the clarity & hi-def features I expect in this price range. Regarding setup... yes, it is very easy...HOWEVER...once set up, you are unable to tweak the audio output/sound at ALL. There is NO COMPATIBILITY with pc or audio outside of Bose default settings. (in other words, you can't alter pitch, environment, equalization, NADA) I was eager to blast the new Bose, & I found out immediately that the louder the speakers (which weren't notably loud, IMO...not bad volume output per se, but not exceptional at all) the more "empty" and/or tinny the music sounded. Yes, there is a subwoofer, and I did test that at full capacity to see if that would offset the OVER treble sounding desk speakers, but...not at all. I have awesome OTE headphones, so I plugged those into the control pad (since the speakers are not bluetooth compatible, the control pod is handy...so I guess that should be listed as a pro?) and the music sounded MUCH better. I just couldn't justify keeping these speakers to ONLY be able to use them with headphones on at all times. I am back to my old Harmon Kardon's...and I must say that after having the Companion 5 for a week or two, I have a new appreciation for what I was looking to upgrade.

Can you finagle a way to make a Bose Companion 5 Multimedia Speaker System a surround sound system?

I have my computer hooked up to my television and the sound goes through my computer so I ended up buying a Bose Companion 5 Multimedia Speaker System today and I'm wondering if there's a way to make it from a 2 speaker and subwoofer system to around a 4 or 5 speaker and subwoofer system
hi, according to Bose, they are NOT compatible with other speakers, and you cannot add to them. I did try to set some up separately to see if it would work (it didn't)
