What's great about it: Quick set up, looks stylish, sounds terrific
What's not so great: Expensive
I bought this set up almost a week ago and I absolutely love it. The set up was quick and simple, to include setting up the system to control all of my other equipment. I was able to set up my Samsung Blu-Ray player and my DirecTV receiver without any issues and the included remote with the Bose system performs all of my DirecTV functions just the way the DirecTV remote does which is something I was initially concerned about. The four HDMI inputs on the console are just enough for me to hook up everything (the 4th HDMI input is hidden behind a flip down door on the front, would be nice if that was mentioned for online customers since the photos posted do not show 4, only shows 3, which could be a deal breaker for some). Some little features I've noticed that I like are the system comes with a "3 headed" IR cable so you can put 3 little nodes in different places so you don't have to worry about using the remote and it not working in a certain area or if you have the console tucked behind a closed door. Another thing that I like is the remote feels very solid, not cheap and light to where if you drop it the remote could shatter, which to me is nice considering the price for the system.
As far as things I don't like...I plugged my XBOX into the front HDMI input and when I went to program it the system did not give me the option to even hook it up via HDMI for system control to turn it on; I'm not sure if that is a function that is unavailable for the front HDMI or I did something wrong. I don't see it as a big deal that I cannot have it set up for system control to turn on/off seeing as I have to get up to put a game in anyway. The option to hook up the sound bar from the console with a digital optical cable versus the s-video cable would be nice but it's not a big deal, especially since they include a very long s-video cable for the hook-up. I also wish the system had a AUX input on the front. The only other issue I have with the system is the price. The 1SR is basically the same system, just without the console, and it is about $1000 less; I would really like to know why/how the console makes this set up $1000 more..
I haven't tried watching anything that is less than 1080 to say how well the up-conversion is...although I can say that the screen is saying my DirecTV is outputting at 1080p whereas normally it is 1080i.
All in all I am very happy with my purchase. The system sounds awesome with sports and movies so far and looks very sleek and stylish.
This product has... Useful Internet-enabled features, Easy to use controls, Good connection options, Great DVD upconversion
About me... Budget Conscious, Casual movie watcher, Parent with movie watching kids, sports viewer, video gamer
I would recommend this to a friend!

How long is the AC power cord ?

How long is the power cord from where it plugs into the sound bar, to where it meets the power supply box connection ? And how long is the power supply box cord to where it plugs into the wall outlet and the control console ? We have our TV mounted above the fireplace and want to place the sound bar on the mantel and not sure we can because of the height between the mantel and the entertainment center.
The power cord from the sound bar is just a standard cord....it is not super long, I can't remember the length exactly, but you could always get a simple extension cord for it if it's not long enough.
