What's great about it: info on your wrist
What's not so great: Must be charged everyday
Had for a year and features seem to be still in early stage, definalty better then live view which was the first smart watch. Smart watch 2 (comming in 9/2013) looks promising. Needs more watch faces apps and internal memory and better processor. Fun for early adopters. Price way better then when I bought it.

How long is the watch band in inches or mm? Will it fit someone with a large wrist?

Apox 9" max wrist size is aprox 8". But can band can be interchanged to fit any size.

Does the watch still have a lot of functions that work if I leave my house and leave my smartphone at home?

I am wondering how "tied" the watch is to my android smartphone. For example, what can I do with the watch when I don't have my smartphone nearby and paired to it via bluetooth.
you can sync the music and play through bluetooth head phones. Pedometer still works. Next wear update will add wifi support. Other then that no.

im planning to buy one and wonder if it works with my current phone or should i get a new one
