This thing went up easy and was solid as a rock. The tilt was also nice. The downside is that my in-laws soon bought an off-brand one that was just as sturdy, but with no tilt for less than 1/3rd the price. This is great if you don't work about the budget, but there are other good options out there if you want to save some $$$.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What is the tilt degree range?
You might get different range with different tvs, However, with my LG 55" I get about 20 degrees of downward tilt. I could maybe get some more, but I have cables in the way.
