I have been through about 4 high end routers and this one has by far been the best. The range on this router is excellent. I am able to connect to my WiFi with full strength in all areas of my 3200 sq. ft. home. We have around 22 devices in the house. There are at max about 10 devices using the internet at the same time and there is no slow down when they are. I would definitely recommend this over the Netgear Nighthawk, and the Linksys WRT 1900.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The R just stands for the models that are sold in retail stores. There is no difference between the two models.
